Australian chickpea exports at 41,546t down 12pc over November

AUSTRALIA exported 41,546 tonnes of chickpeas in November, 12 per cent below the October figure of 47,126t, according to the latest export data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

As with October, Bangladesh has been the biggest volume buyer, taking 19,703t in November, 941t below the previous month’s figure.

Pakistan has continued to buy significant amounts of containerised chickpeas, and November shipments at 13,253t are up 556t from the October number.

Nepal and the United Arab Emirates have also taken four-digit tonnages of containerised chickpeas.
