AUSTRALIA exported 36,687 tonnes of canola in October, down markedly from 63,556t shipped in September, in line with the usually annual run-down of stocks ahead of new-crop.
Latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows China has maintained its place as Australia’s volume buyer of canola in recent months, taking 30,850t, or 84 per cent, of total October shipments.
Loading of new-crop vessels is starting this month, with Europe expected to be the major destination for early shipments.
