The Government of India gazette reports that India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has extended bans on the import of peas a further three months until the end of March 2019.

One commentator said it appeared the government did not want to allow imports before the arrival of India’s own rabi crop.

The cultivars of peas, pisum sativum, covered by the EXIM code classification are yellow peas, green peas, dun peas and kaspa peas. The latter is especially relevant to southern Australian growers.
