MAJOR eastern Australian bulk handler GrainCorp has received 8.47 million tonnes (Mt) of grain in the current harvest following 1.8Mt into the system in the past week.
In its Harvest Update out today, GrainCorp said the winter-crop harvest in Queensland was wrapping up, with some receivals still trickling into the Darling Downs and Goondiwindi regions.
“In northern New South Wales, clearer skies and rising temperatures toward the end of last week brought an increase in receivals, particularly in the Dubbo and Werris Creek regions, as the broader region transitions into the latter stages of harvest,” the update said.
“Harvest is in full swing across southern NSW, with strong delivery volumes across all regions, particularly Parkes, Wyalong and Temora.
The southern NSW region recorded its largest receival day of the season last week, with over 180,000t delivered.
In Victoria, harvest is under way in all regions, with sites now receiving all commodities.
However, widespread wet weather over the weekend is expected to slow receival activity in the coming days.
GrainCorp reports overall quality across all commodities has been excellent.
