Marchagee Farms, WA
Highly productive soils suitable for grain and oilseed production, together with diversified income streams, are being offered for sale in Western Australia’s Central Midlands.
The 4811ha Marchagee Farms is located 24km from Coorow and 65km from Moora and comprises the 4186ha Lombardy and the 625ha Wandallah.
The aggregation rotates wheat, barley, canola and lupin crops using variable-rate technology, sound nutritional management, cutting edge in-crop chemistry and controlled traffic systems.
Long paddock run lines ensure ease and efficiency of cropping operations.

Soil types underpinning the operation are a blend of cherts, brown clays, red loams, sand over gravels and clay and yellow sands – considered to be easy working with exceptional water holding capacity.
Elders agent Courtney Keeffe has been appointed to sell Marchagee Farms by way of expressions of interest closing October 21.
He said the standalone, high yielding cropping enterprise offers potential for future income streams.
“The successful purchaser could obtain extraction industry licences and/or develop renewable energy projects subject to feasibility and approvals, with several developers identifying the area as suitable for wind turbine development,” Mr Keeffe said.
Situated in a reliable rainfall region, Marchagee Farms is watered by dams, a bore and tanks.
Lombardy
The gently undulating land falls from the north and west to the valley floor at the southern end, with original native vegetation consisting of tamar, York gum, mallee, banksia, jam and gimlet.
It offers a significant deposit of high-quality lime suitable for soil acidity neutralisation which was previously mined commercially.
Most of the infrastructure is on Lombardy and includes a four-bedroom home, staff facilities, numerous sheds and more than 1000 tonnes of fertiliser storage.
Wandallah
The 625ha Wandallah is 2km west of the corner boundary of Lombardy and features undulating land that transitions to a flat plain.
Infrastructure includes two sheds.
The block offers extraction opportunities with large deposits of high neutralising dolomitic lime and three deposits of bentonite clay.
Telopea Downs, Vic
Colliers Agribusiness has this week launched the international expressions-of-interest campaign for Telopea Downs, closing on November 21.
Last month, the agency announced it would bring to market the largest grazing and cropping property in Victoria.
Listed by sixth generation family-owned company AJ & PA McBride, Telopea Downs spans 47,660ha across 11 adjoining properties – 10 in Victoria and one in South Australia – midway between the towns of Bordertown and Kaniva.
According to the McBride website, the family has been running a Merino sheep flock, a beef herd and a large fodder and commercial cropping enterprise growing wheat, barley, lupins, beans, and canola.

Colliers Agribusiness national director Jesse Manuel said the significant farming operation has benefited from the past and present owners’ continued land and pasture
improvement program.
“Telopea Downs has in excess of 27,000ha of clay improved country supporting established renovated pastures and a large-scale cropping program.”
Telopea Downs boasts substantial water entitlements totalling 2325ML for irrigation, and more than 300ha of centre-pivot development for fodder production to support the livestock enterprise or alternative income streams through seed or horticultural crop production.
Telopea Downs is watered by 50 bores.
Munro Brothers Aggregation, Vic
The Munro Brothers are selling their blue-ribbon cropping and farming enterprise in Victoria’s Mallee.
The 1170ha aggregation comprises three holdings – 267ha Camerons, 576ha Home & Collins, and 327ha Yetmans – of which 1138ha is arable.
Located in the Speed-Turriff farming district, the aggregation is close to grain-receival centres and agricultural services at Ouyen, Turriff, Patchewollock, Lascelles, and Hopetoun.

McKean McGregor Mildura agent Michael Fernandez said the cropping land has well managed soils because of agronomic and modern farm management practices, designed to maximise profitability by rotating cereals and legumes.
Situated in a 310mm to 325mm average annual rainfall region, the infrastructure across the aggregation includes a home, a three-stand shearing shed and numerous sheds.
The Munro Brothers Aggregation is being offered for sale by expressions of interest closing on October 9.
