NEIGHBOURS Graham and Kerrie Garside and family have paid $5.15 million for a quality mixed-farming operation in Central Queensland.

Mt Walker is situated at the base of the Huntley Range, 38km west of Dysart and halfway between Clermont and Capella.

RBV Rural agent Matt Beard said the outstanding result included 180ha of chickpeas and more than 80ha of wheat.

“Mt Walker is a lovely piece of country that is well improved and in a desirable location,” Mr Beard said.

“The safe mix of versatile country allows for a multitude of farming options including cereal cropping, paddock subdivision and installing more watering points.”

Of the 1179ha, around 275ha are arable.

The fertile, heavy black soils are benefitting from a good seasonal start, with a good range of depth.

The balance of country, which is used for grazing, is carrying a large body of feed including buffel and Mitchell grasses.

Located in a reliable rainfall area, Mt Walker is watered by three bores and two dams.

The infrastructure includes a three-bedroom home and a number of sheds.

Adavale and Kelvingrove, NSW

A mixed-farming opportunity on the north-west plains of New South Wales is offering potential purchasers scope to increase production.

The 1988ha Adavale and Kelvingrove are situated 26km east of Nyngan and 36km from Nevertire.

Elders Emms Mooney agent Simon Bell said the tightly held area is known for its high yielding and responsive country and there is an opportunity to take the property to a new level.

The country on Adavale and Kelvingrove consists of level black soils and a mixture of red loams.

At the beginning of June, 317ha were sown to wheat with the balance of country comprising native pastures and trees, include myall and box.

Situated in a 425mm annual rainfall region, the aggregation is watered by 10 dams and two bores, one of which is solar powered.

The infrastructure includes a six-bedroom home, a machinery shed, two steel cattle yards, a four-stand shearing shed and new steel sheep yards.

It has five new 100-tonne silos for grain storage.
