Weekly rainfall update + rain outlook 15 November 2023

INCREASED humidity due to easterly airflow combined with surface low-pressure troughs produced showers and thunderstorms across parts of eastern Australia during the week.

From mid-week, widespread showers and thunderstorms impacted Western Australia and the Northern Territory, while a weak cold front moved over southern Australia.

Weekly totals greater than 50mm were recorded in northern parts of the NT, north-western Queensland and northern and central WA.

The highest weekly total at a bureau gauge of 107mm was recorded at Yeuralba Ridge, NT, including the highest daily rainfall total during the week of 106mm in the 24 hours to 9am on November 10.

Rainfall totals of 10-50mm were recorded in much of the NT and New South Wales, eastern Victoria, southern Tasmania and large parts of Qld and WA.
