A HIGH-PRESSURE system directed onshore flow to the east coast, producing showers for coastal and some inland parts of New South Wales and Queensland.
Cold fronts impacted parts of southern Australia during the week bringing gusty winds and showers to Western Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.
Weekly totals of 25-50mm were recorded on the coast in parts of WA and northern NSW and in western Tasmania.
Parts of the Qld coast also recorded weekly totals of 25-50mm, but locally much higher totals due to onshore airflow.
The highest weekly total at a Bureau gauge of 165mm was recorded at Pacific Heights, Qld, including the highest daily rainfall during the week of 155mm in the 24 hours to 9am on May 15.
Most of Australia recorded little to no rain during the week.
