Deliveries to GrainCorp hit 7.9Mt as harvest slows

DELIVERIES to GrainCorp’s network across eastern Australia have passed 7.9 million tonnes (Mt) following 78,000t being received in the week to today, the bulk handler said in its

“Growers are still delivering in some parts of Victoria, mainly in the Wimmera and Western Districts,” GrainCorp said in its final Harvest Update for the 2023-24 season.

“Wet weather continues to be disruptive for growers, however with clearer conditions, the activity is expected to wind up in the next fortnight.

“Several sites across Victoria have had their best ever season, with records falling at Elmore, Murchison East, Mitiamo, Quambatook, Rainbow, Speed and Nhill.

“Meanwhile, the Southern Mallee cluster of sites have together received the most grain ever this season.”
