INCITEC Pivot Fertilisers has invested $4 million in upgrades at its Port Lincoln Primary Distribution Centre on South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula.

The spend includes a new storage shed that boosts on-site capacity by 30 percent, enhancing supply chain efficiency and strengthening the reliability of fertiliser delivery to local customers.

On Wednesday, IPF president Scott Bowman joined growers, customers, and industry representatives on site at the opening of the upgraded facility.

“This expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to regional South Australia and to the growers who rely on us to deliver the right product at the right time,” Mr Bowman said.

“The new storage shed increases capacity and ensures more product can be unloaded directly from ships into the shed.

“It eliminates the need to transfer fertiliser from IPF’s Port Adelaide site by road, removing more heavy vehicles off South Australian roads, lowers our environmental footprint, and improves turnaround times for our customers.”

IPF said the upgrade enables faster, more flexible dispatch of key fertilisers such as MAP, DAP, Granulock Z, and Green Urea NV, helping to meet seasonal demand with greater efficiency.

The Port Lincoln improvements are part of a broader $14.5M investment at the site over the past decade.

“By streamlining logistics and increasing security of supply, the investment strengthens IPF’s
ability to meet customer expectations across the region.

“The Eyre Peninsula is one of Australia’s most important grain-growing regions, and this facility plays a vital role in ensuring we’re well positioned to meet the region’s needs now and into the future.”

IPF has a long-standing presence in Port Lincoln, with the facility approaching its centenary in 2026.
