THE SMARTER Nutrition stockfeed manufacturing business near Dalby in southern Queensland has sold to Andrew Reilly.
The 8304sq m facility specialising in full-fat soya meal production, together with Top Country near Roma, were offered to the market in November last year by Darling Downs agribusiness figures Stephen and Natalie Aisthorpe.
Formerly known as Soya Feeds, the Aisthorpes purchased the Smarter Nutrition facility from Greg and Margaret Bailey in 2022 and during their two-year ownership, broadened the operation’s production capacity to include a wider variety of protein meals and products.
The purchaser, Massie-based Mr Reilly and his family are large-scale pig producers based at Glengallan in Qld’s Southern Downs region.
Elders Real Estate agent Phillip Kelly was unable to disclose the price of the walk-in, walk-out transaction, but described the sale as very positive for Dalby and the local community.
In April, Roma-based beef producers Cam and Sharon Colley took over stockfeed manufacturer Top Country, signalling plans to grow the business and bring fresh ideas to its product range.
Located on the Warrego Highway near Roma, the 8.087ha site manufactures dry loose-lick supplements, self-regulating production mixes, and complete grain rations for the beef, dairy, sheep, goat and equine industries.
After taking over the operation in early April, the Colleys have focused on upgrading the mill infrastructure and bringing back customers that had looked elsewhere during a short period of uncertainty.
