A SERIES of cold fronts and low-pressure systems brought widespread showers to southern areas of the country this week, particularly across western and southern parts of Western Australia.

Weekly rainfall totals of 10-50mm were recorded across western and southern WA, much of Tasmania, and areas of southern and eastern Victoria.

Weekly rainfall totals of 50-100mm were recorded along parts of the west coast of WA and north-west Tas, with isolated totals greater than 100mm in the South West district of WA.

A cloud band brought rainfall across northern and central parts of Queensland early in the week on June 16 and 17.

Weekly rainfall totals of 10-50mm were recorded across northern and central areas of Qld, with falls of 25-50mm in parts of the north-east and falls greater than 50mm in the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands district.

The highest weekly total at a Bureau gauge) was 150mm at Aston Downs Alert in WA, and the highest daily total at a Bureau gauge was 86mm at Jindong in WA in the 24 hours to 9am on June 18.
