HARVEST receivals at GrainCorp have jumped to 1.56 million tonnes in the past week following deliveries totalling 971,100t, the bulk handler said in its weekly Harvest Update out today.
“Harvest activity in Queensland continues at pace, with southern regions of the state in full swing,” GrainCorp said in the update.
“The Goondiwindi region recorded strong receival volumes of barley, wheat and some chickpeas last week, underpinned by consistent high quality.
“In northern New South Wales, deliveries of canola, barley and wheat have picked up around Moree and Burren Junction, with the broader region expected to move into full swing in the coming week.”
GrainCorp said harvest in southern NSW is only just getting started, with early canola and barley receivals coming into northern parts of the region, and most areas still preparing to start harvesting.
“In Victoria, early deliveries of barley have commenced in the Northern Mallee and Swan Hill regions.
“Recent rainfall has provided a valuable late-season boost to crops across other parts of the state.”
GrainCorp encourages growers to stay in regular contact with their local Site Managers for the latest updates on deliveries and segregations.
