
AT THE START of last week, cold fronts and low-pressure systems moved across southern parts of the country and brought moderate daily rainfall totals.
Weekly rainfall totals greater than 15mm were recorded across parts of south-west Western Australia and southern South Australia, most of central and eastern Victoria extending into eastern New South Wales, and western Tasmania.
Falls of 25-50mm were recorded across alpine areas of Vic and western Tas.
A high-pressure system in the Tasman Sea directed moist onshore winds to the east coast, generating some light to moderate rainfall across Queensland and New South Wales.
Weekly rainfall totals greater than 10mm were recorded across coastal areas of NSW and Qld, with falls of 25-50mm in the Northern Rivers district of NSW and the North Tropical Coast and Tablelands district in Qld.
An upper level low moved across SA later in the week and brought light and patchy showers to central parts of the mainland.

The highest weekly total at a Bureau gauge of 127mm was recorded at Mount Read in Tas.
The highest daily total at a Bureau gauge of 47mm was recorded at Minnie Water, Pump Shed in NSW in the 24 hours to 9am on August 17.
