MSA Business Development Officer

Meat Standards Australia is an independent meat grading system designed to improve the eating quality consistency of beef and sheepmeat, and this role will implement the MSA strategy to drive adoption of the program for all areas of the supply chain as well as ensuring integrity and compliance to MSA standards.

Applicants should have  a broad understanding of the Australian red meat and livestock industry and key principles of the MSA program, confident presentation skills, and a background in agricultural science (either through degree or experience).

Stockperson – Export Beef Processing Plant

Meramist Pty Ltd operates a multi species export abattoir in Caboolture, QLD.  Applicants should have livestock experience in handling cattle and horses, be physically fit, able to work unsupervised and have passion for the job.  A good understanding of animal welfare requirements is essential.

Farm Manager

Oakwood Grazing Company operates a Certified Organic mixed farming operation near Narrandera NSW, and the property’s core function is to provide a Certified Organic finishing depot to complement our existing Organic Lamb supply chain.  The Farm Manager will be responsible for day to day operations with the goal of providing the Livestock Manager with the option to place lambs onto feed when required.

Trainee Livestock Buyer

This is an opportunity to grow your career with AACo and assist Northern Supply (Darwin) with sourcing, management and logistics of livestock through the supply chain.  Duties will include (but are not limited to) manage welfare of all livestock, effective communication with station management along the supply chain, drafting cattle to requirements and assist with the management of livestock contracts.

Assistant to the Manager – Allawah Brahman Stud

Allawah Brahman Stud operates an intensive bull breeding operation near Biloela in Central Queensland which underpins CPC’s genetics program on a herd of 650 stud brahman breeders.  This position offers an exciting opportunity to learn from an experienced and performance driven management team at both Allawah and within CPC.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, general knowledge and experience in all aspects of property maintenance, good horse riding and animal husbandry skills and knowledge and a committed outlook to WHS. Electrician

This is an opportunity to be part of the Maintenance Team  at our processing facility 5km outside of Inverell.  The Electrician is required to perform a wide range of preventative maintenance and breakdown tasks associated with the provision of a strong Electrical and Maintenance program with the central focus of the role being to ensure the ongoing availability, reliability and capability of the plant’s process, systems and equipment.

Candidates should possess a current NSW electrical licence, previous experience with PLC, HMI / Scada, VSD,  Instrumentation etc., minimum 3 years in a similar role, and a strong understanding of GMP & HACCP requirements.  Experience in a food processing environment will be highly regarded.

Plant Refrigeration Engineer

An opportunity exists for a proactive, energetic and experienced Engine Driver to be part of the Maintenance Team at our processing facility 5km from Inverell NSW. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader the Engine Driver is required to maintain and operate ammonia based refrigeration systems in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.

Candidates should have broad-based experience or sound knowledge of engineering practices and policies with a particular emphasis on services, hold a relevant trade qualification with refrigeration experience essential, and a demonstrated knowledge of the legal and legislative compliance conditions and issues.

Head Stockperson – Camfield Station

AA Co wishes to employ a Head Stockperson at Camfield  Station, 375km SW of Katherine, in the Victoria River District of NT.  Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) – manage welfare of all livestock according to Code of Practice, effective communication with station management and staff, implement annual maintenance and capital improvements and record accurate stock numbers for the company’s livestock information system.

The successful applicant will have – previous experience in a similar role, sound knowledge of station activities, working knowledge of market specifications and ability to draft cattle accordingly, high level of organisation skills and horse riding experience.

Feedmill Operator – Charlton Feedlot

Charlton Feedlot is located in NW Victoria, just 2 1/2 hours from Melbourne.  This is a modern 20,000 head facility  which serves a key role in the Teys Australia supply chain producing quality beef for domestic and short-fed export markets.

The feedmill operator is primarily responsible for the automated delivery and dispersal of grain feed to cattle and utilises new and innovative equipment to efficiently achieve this process.  Operation of equipment must be conducted in a safe and responsible manner and some knowledge of machinery maintenance would be an asset.

Senior Property Overseer

This position is available on a 3200ha Angus  breeding and finishing property in the upper SE of South Australia.  Reporting to, and working with, the off-site Farm Manager you will be accountable for the day-to-day management of the property.  Core responsibilities include cattle husbandry/handling, infrastructure management & maintenance, pasture establishment & maintenance, and direction/supervision of contractors, casual staff and stakeholders.

Technical Assistant – Newcastle Waters Station

CPC requires a Technical Assistant to join our team at Newcastle Waters Station NT, a large 10,000 head multi sire bull breeding unit on the Barkly Tablelands.  The role will involve assisting the Stud Manager in all data recording aspects of breeding operations, with a high level of computer literacy and attention to detail required.

The successful applicant must have an enthusiastic approach to learning, have a committed outlook to WHS and be excited about extending genetic progress in our breeding program through fertility selection. An experienced industry driven individual is being sought by Queensland Agricultural Training Colleges for this position where you will be instrumental in driving the development, growth and sustainability of key educational programs, including training and mentoring of apprentices and trainees, across the state.
