April barley, sorghum exports slow: ABS

SORGHUM export in April amounted to a modest 3248 tonnes according to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics figures, a little slower than the March shipment quantity 5491 tonnes.

Barley exports to China fell rapidly, dwindling to 119,149 tonnes in April, almost one-third of the previous month March quantity of  298,318 tonnes in March.  The peak quantity this season was in December when shipments totalled 889,701 tonnes to China. The lowest ebb in 2018 was in the spring months September, October and November when a total 906 tonnes of Australian barley was shipped to China.
