GRAINCORP received 2 million tonnes (Mt) of grain in the week to today to take its total receivals for the harvest to date to 10.4Mt, according to GrainCorp’s latest Harvest Update.
It was the biggest week of deliveries for the 2021-22 harvest so far, and it saw GrainCorp’s large outload program of up to 300,000t per week continue across its entire network to create space for more receivals.
GrainCorp said the Queensland winter harvest is now mostly complete and growers have turned their attention to summer cropping.
Harvest receival activity slowed across the weekend with rain across most clusters, but has resumed today with the return of fine weather.
Primary areas of receival activity have been the Wyalong cluster in New South Wales, and the north-east region of Victoria’s grainbelt.
Some Victorian sites are starting to fill, and the southern NSW and Victorian harvest is expected to continue into January 2022.
