Grain Central October 20, 2017

Pulses processor AGT Foods Australia was last night named the winner of the Premier of Queensland’s 2017 Export Awards in the agribusiness category.

AGT Foods CEO Peter Wilson receives export award from the Hon. Annastacia Palaszczuk MP, Premier of Queensland.

Queensland premier Annastacia Palaszczuk acknowledged AGT Foods Australia’s contribution to the state’s economy.

“AGT Foods Australia is one of a number of local businesses that is adding to Queensland’s reputation as a world leader in high-quality agricultural produce that is safe, clean and green,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

AGT Foods Australia, along with Canadian parent company AGT Food and Ingredients Inc, is a global leader in value-added processing of pulses, staple foods and ingredients.

Queensland category winners will attend the 55th Australian export awards national competition in December, which will include judging of the Prime Minister’s Australian Exporter of the Year.

The other agribusiness finalists were meat products supplier, Australian Country Choice, abalone processor and exporter, BNY Trading and beef stock and flavourings manufacturer and exporter, CJNutracon.

Wellcamp Airport was finalist in the regional exporter category.
