WA handler develops enhanced cash trading platform

Grain Central, November 2, 2017

GROWERS holding grain in Western Australia’s CBH storages now have the opportunity to make best use of their DailyGrain website with the addition this week of a feature called MarketPlace; growers can post offers which can be matched with buyers’ bids to create a cash trade.

DailyGrain’s Chris Badgery-Parker said MarketPlace was a separate platform within the DailyGrain website where buyers and growers could match bids and offers.

“Through MarketPlace, DailyGrain members will be able to view their inventory and offer parcels of grain to the buyers they prefer, at prices they choose, on trading terms they will accept,” Mr Badgery-Parker said.

“While the price discovery tool, DailyGrain, has been operating for some years, the new MarketPlace platform enables a bid and an offer to be matched, a trade executed and the grain automatically nominated.”

Details of the trade are then sent to the buyer to organise payment.

“It will also bring real market transparency to Western Australia’s grain market place, and empower growers to set prices and trade on acceptable terms with their chosen buyers,” Mr Badgery-Parker said.

MarketPlace is available in Western Australia; free to those signed up for DailyGrain premium and basic. DailyGrain basic is free to all CBH growers.
