THE harvest just gone has seen CBH Group receive 24.2 million tonnes (Mt) of total grain, the largest intake in the Western Australian co-operative’s history.

The total adds more than 6 percent to the previous record of 22.9Mt set in 2022-23, and CBH chief operations officer Mick Daw said the 2025-26 harvest demonstrated set new benchmarks for both scale and speed.

“Growers have delivered a record crop at a record pace,” Mr Daw said.

“This is the fourth time in five years harvest deliveries have exceeded 20Mt, showing how quickly the state’s production profile is evolving, driven by another year of exceptional grower performance.”

Four of five zones – Albany, Esperance, Kwinana South and Geraldton Zones – set new seasonal totals, with 45 sites across the network achieving their biggest season ever, and 45 sites breaking daily records.

Milestones for the 2025-26 harvest included:

• Geraldton Grain Terminal season record of 941,385t received;
• 18 days with more than 500,000t delivered in a single day;
• nine days with more than 600,000t delivered in a single day; and,
• An all-time daily record of 680,129t delivered.

More than 80pc of the harvest – almost 20Mt – was delivered in just over six weeks.

“What used to take over a week, we are now receiving in a few days.”

Strong harvest out-turns continued the momentum.

From October to January, CBH out-turned 7.2Mt, including a record 2.5Mt in January, on the way to its Path to 2033 Strategy, which aims for peak monthly out-turn of 3Mt.

Ahead of the 2025-26 harvest, CBH invested significantly, adding 2.3Mt of storage, upgrading key network sites, deploying additional equipment, and recruiting and training about 1800 harvest casuals to support frontline operations.

“With crops of this size becoming more common, having a high-performing supply chain is essential.
