Varieties undergoing Stage Two Evaluation are:
Titan AX: Insufficient grain was available to complete full evaluation in 2024 and will continue Stage Two evaluation this year;
AGTB0318: Insufficient grain was available to complete full evaluation in 2024 and will continue Stage Two evaluation this year;
Laperouse: Sufficient grain was available; however, a Stage Two evaluation on the barley variety is still pending due to unavoidable delays.
An update is expected to be provided to the industry in the coming months when further information is anticipated to be available.
Spinnaker successfully completed Stage One evaluation in December and can now proceed into Stage Two commercial evaluation trials in 2025.
Varieties accepted into the accreditation program are:
RGT Atlantis: Submitted by RAGT, this waterlogging-tolerant RGT Planet-derived barley is suited to grow in regions of high rainfall, and has been bred to withstand periods of waterlogging;
AGTB0530: Submitted by AGT, this herbicide-tolerant variety is broadly adapted but best suited to regions of low to medium rainfall;
IGB22023T: Submitted by InterGrain, this imidazolinone-tolerant barley is suited to low-rainfall regions;
IGB22117T: Submitted by InterGrain, this imidazolinone-tolerant barley is suited to higher-rainfall environments.
Pending final quality checks, sufficient grain parcels are available for all varieties accepted into the accreditation program and will commence Stage One evaluation this year.
The only varieties withdrawn from the accreditation program are AGT’s Yeti and Beast.
