EASTERN Australian bulk handler GrainCorp has received 10.9 million tonnes (Mt) of grain for the 2024-25 harvest.
The figure is well up on the comparable figure of 7.9Mt for the 2023-24 harvest, which was impacted by dry conditions, particularly in the northern half of New South Wales.
In its final Harvest Update for the current season issued January 6, GrainCorp said several sites across its network have recorded their highest receivals in more than 10 years.
New receival records were set at Talwood and Toobeah in southern Queensland, Bellata, Burren Junction, Caroona, and Garah in northern NSW, and Quandialla on the state’s south-west slopes.
The update said Victoria’s harvest activity was winding down, and largely focused on Central Vic, the Wimmera, and the Western District.
