DELIVERIES in the current harvest to bulk handlers GrainCorp have hit 4.79 million tonnes (Mt), the major eastern Australian bulk handler said in its latest weekly Harvest Update.

This follows deliveries of 842,600t in the week to today.

GrainCorp said harvest activity in Queensland and northern New South Wales was now mostly complete, with receivals still trickling into the Dubbo and Werris Creek regions in the northern half of NSW.

Rain in the past week has boosted summer-cropping prospects for growers in southern
Queensland and northern NSW, and has delayed harvest activity in Victoria and the southern half of NSW.

Week to Nov 27 Harvest to Nov 27
Queensland 1,500 411,300
New South Wales 249,900 2,733,700
Victoria 591,200 1,645,700
TOTAL TONNES 842,600 4,790,700

Following more rain forecast for NSW and Vic this week, clearer weather and rising temperatures for the next few weeks will allow further progress on the cereal harvest across both states.

GrainCorp reports overall quality has remained strong across all commodities, with canola and barley deliveries continuing in southern NSW and Victoria, and said it was continuing to outload more than 150,000t of grain across the network each week.
