EASTERN Australia grain handler, GrainCorp, has taken in 1.99 million tonnes of grain to date from the drought-affected 2018 winter crop as the harvest on the eastern seaboard draws to a close.
The Queensland and New South Wales harvests are effectively completed while the Victorian harvest is continuing after dry weather last week, with good volumes of wheat coming into the network.
Given the drought conditions this harvest, a significant share of production is expected to remain on farm or be delivered direct to domestic consumers.
