MAJOR EASTERN Australian bulk handler GrainCorp has received 1.1 million tonnes (Mt) of grain in the week to today to lift its total receivals for the current harvest to 1.8Mt.
In its second weekly Harvest Update for the current season, GrainCorp said the past week has seen first deliveries to its Victorian sites.
GrainCorp said Queensland was now moving into peak harvest activity, and its Thallon site in the state’s south-west received a record 18,000t in one day last week,” the update said.
“Quality of chickpeas and wheat coming in is excellent.
“Canola, barley and wheat receivals are coming in across NSW, with quality holding up despite recent rain events.
“In Victoria, deliveries of barley have commenced in the Mallee, with Central Victoria and the Wimmera
expected to follow in the next fortnight.”
