FEED manufacturer Premier Stockfeeds is selling its two sites in New South Wales, one in north-west Sydney and the other at Tamworth.
The Sydney site is located at 21 Curtis Road, McGraths Hill, and is listed with Ray White Commercial Western Sydney, while the Tamworth site is located on the Back Kootingal Road north of the city, and is yet to list.
“Both the McGrath’s Hill and Kootingal sites are owned by Premier Stockfeeds Pty Ltd (not Premier Stock Feeds Australia Pty Ltd which is in administration), and both are currently for sale through an EOI campaign,” Premier Stockfeeds director Cameron Sell said in a statement.
The Kootingal mill can produce 12,000 tonnes of feed per annum, and has been making pelleted stockfeed for monogastric and ruminants on two independent lines with its single 5-7t-per-hour Simon Baron pellet press.
Australian Securities & Investment Commission documents indicate Adam Farnsworth of Sydney firm Farnsworth Carson was appointed as administrator of Premier Stock Feeds (Australia) Pty Ltd on February 2, and that creditors’ meetings were held February 12 and March 9.
ASIC documents indicate relational proprietary limited businesses, all at the address of Lot 101 Curtis Avenue, McGraths Hill are: Premier Petfoods Australia; Premier Packaging Australia; Meatbits Australia, and The Great Australian Petfood Company.
Grain Central understands Lot 101 Curtis Avenue and 21 Curtis Road are the same location, and that Premier Stock Feeds and Premier Stockfeeds are the same businesses, but are different to Premier Stock Feeds (Australia) Pty Ltd.
Summary of report
In his report and statement of opinion to creditors dated February 27, Mr Farnsworth said he ascertained the Premier Stock Feeds (Australia) Pty Ltd did not trade on its own account, but acted as the trustee of the Premier Stock Feeds Unit Trust.
Following a resolution of Mr Sell, its sole director, on February 2, Mr Farnsworth was appointed as voluntary administrator of the company, and has recommended to creditors that the company be wound up with its assets being $8 in cash and cash equivalents and $8 issued share capital.
The company and the trust came into being in 1992 and 1994 respectively.
“The trust operated a business servicing farmers and rural businesses with stock feed,” Mr Farnsworth’s report states.
“It appears to have been trading for over 30 years.
“It manufactured a full range of pelleted feed for the livestock industry and had products available for poultry, pigs, dairy cattle, beef cattle and sheep.
“It also manufactured and/or packaged pet food.”
Operations of the trust and the associated Premier Packaging Australia Pty Ltd, which carried out the company’s packaging operations, effectively ceased on 30 January 2026.
Premier Stock Feeds owns the property at 21 Curtis Road, McGraths Hill, while the Kootingal property was leased by the trust from three proprietary limited companies: Repmore; Amjaz, and Fairlight Capital Group, each being shareholders of Premier Stock Feeds (Australia) and unit holders in the trust.
“There was a formal lease between the aforementioned parties which expires on 30 June 2027.”
Mr Farnsworth does not intend to exercise property rights over either the McGraths Hill or the Kootingal property.
He believes the company and trust were insolvent for at least 12 months prior to his appointment.
Unsecured creditors claims total $13.24 million, comprising mainly related and third-party loan accounts totalling $8M, and trade creditors totalling $4.65M.
