RECENT activity in the Western Australian market includes the listing of Treehaven Farm and adjoining properties Harold Parka and Carranya, and the sale of Wildwood.
Treehaven Farm
Offers around $20 million are being sought for a blue-chip mixed farm in WA’s Wheatbelt.
The 1723ha Treehaven Farm is located 5km from Bolgart, a tightly held area north of Toodyay in the Victoria Plains Shire, around 140km north-east of Perth.
It is being sold by Russell Lockyer after 14 years of ownership to enable succession planning.
Mr Lockyer said Treehaven Farm consists of three adjoining holdings.
“There has been good interest from neighbours and local farmers seeking to expand their existing operations, as well as some corporate and investor inquiry from as far afield as the eastern states,” Mr Lockyer said.
Under Mr Lockyer’s management, the property has been growing 1467ha of wheat, canola, barley and lupins on clay over gravel and some light sand that has been clayed. It has also been running around 3500 sheep.
Elders agent Kris Teakle said Treehaven Farm boasts attributes second to none when it comes to soil, water and infrastructure.
“The property is very well presented and farmed, with an excellent fertiliser history and cropping yields.”
Treehaven Farm is watered by six bores, 11 dams and a creek.
Infrastructure includes a six-bedroom home, a manager’s residence, a cottage, a three-stand shearing shed, sheep and cattle yards and numerous sheds.
The property is being offered for sale by expressions of interest.
Harold Park and Carranya
Charles and Shayne Wass have put a $4.M price tag on their productive dryland cropping and livestock opportunity in WA’s North Midlands farming region.

The 2760ha Harold Park (1716ha) and Carranya (1044ha) are adjoining properties situated 11km from Coorow and 75km north of Moora.
Across the holding, around 1800ha of the gravelly clays, red, brown and yellow loams and chert soils are arable and growing wheat, triticale, lupins, and canola.
Together with the dryland cropping rotations, Harold Park and Carranya run a 1000-head self-replacing Dohne flock, but the aggregation is equally suited to cattle and other livestock pursuits.
It is watered by four equipped bores and a large permanent soak, and sits in a 380mm average annual rainfall region.
Structural improvements include a three-bedroom home, numerous sheds, a three-stand shearing shed, sheep yards and 280 tonnes of grain silo storage.
Elders agent Courtney Keeffe said the vendors would also consider selling Harold Park and leasing Carranya.
Wildwood
A Mid West family trust has paid $3M to expand with a mixed farm between Geraldton and Perth.
The 1315ha Wildwood is located on the banks of the Arrowsmith River, 22km north of Eneabba and 80km from the CBH receival at Mingenew.
Around 810ha is considered arable, with most of the soil types grey sand over yellow clay suited to cereals, lupins and oilseeds.
In a normal crop and pasture mix, 700 ewes and progeny are carried however, in recent years, the vendors have increased sheep numbers and cropped wheat and lupin in rotation.

During the marketing campaign, Elders agent Courtney Keeffe said the mixed farm had significant capacity to enhance either grain or livestock enterprises.
“Excellent grain production has been achieved, with cropping records showing yields of up to 3.3t/ha for wheat and 2.3t/ha for lupins,” Mr Keeffe said.
“However, further deep tillage would enhance crop yields.”
“The 1310ha of improved and well-established pastures could carry 1400 to 1500 ewes and progeny if run solely as a livestock enterprise.”
Situated in a 450mm annual rainfall region, water is supplied by a 40m deep submersible pump, reticulated to every paddock.
Infrastructure includes a four-bedroom home, a 2017-built four-stand shearing shed, steel sheep yards, sheds, five 50t grain silos and a 50,000-litre liquid fertiliser tank.
