BOM weekly rainfall update 28 April 2026 + outlook

ONSHORE winds brought isolated showers to parts of eastern New South Wales and Queensland in the past week.

Weekly rainfall totals of 10-100mm, and locally higher, were recorded in parts of eastern NSW and south-eastern and the north Qld coast.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms affected northern parts of the Top End of the Northern Territory, where weekly rainfall totals of 10-100mm were recorded.

A trough and cold front moved across south-western Australia during the week and brought light to moderate rainfall totals.

Weekly rainfall totals of 10-50mm were recorded across south-western parts of Western Australia.

The highest weekly total at a Bureau gauge was 158mm at Tung Oil Tm in Qld.

The highest daily total at a Bureau gauge was 76mm at Tully Sugar Mill in Qld in the 24 hours to 9am on April 24.
