Throughout the week, thunderstorms, some severe, brought localised heavy rainfall across northern Australia, Queensland and north-eastern New South Wales, including some October daily rainfall records, and large to giant hail in the east.
Weekly rainfall totals of 10-50mm were recorded across much of northern Australia, south-east Qld, isolated parts of coastal NSW, and western Tasmania.
Weekly rainfall totals of 50-100mm were recorded in pockets of northern Australia and south-east Qld.
The highest weekly rainfall total at a Bureau gauge was 87mm at Folesche Headland in the Northern Territory, recorded on a single day in the 24 hours to 9am on October 31, making it also the highest daily rainfall total in the week.
