RIDLEY Corporation Limited has named Wiley & Co Pty Ltd (Wiley)  as the design build partner and principal contractor for its new extrusion mill project in Westbury, Tasmania.

Artists impression of the planned Ridley aquafeed mill to be built at Westbury in Tasmania.

The Westbury mill will add to Ridley’s position as one of Australia’s leading producers of animal feed, and will incorporate technologies which deliver a greater capacity in shorter lead times.

“Our commitment to Ridley and the broader aquaculture industry is to deliver value at every stage of this project and unlock a new level of commercial possibilities for the industry in doing so,” Wiley innovation and strategy director, Brandon Miller, said.

The mill will have a capacity of up to 50,000 tonnes per annum, on-site bulk storage capacity, and warehouses for raw materials and finished goods.

It will primarily supply the salmon industry, and other aquaculture species in Australia and New Zealand.

Over the past year, Wiley has been working with Ridley on the design of the Westbury project, which has recently received Development Approval.

Construction of the mill is due to be completed next year.
