GRDC supports study tours for growers

Grain Central, May 23, 2017

THE Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is helping grain growers build their technical knowledge and professional skills by offering funding support for group study tours.

Grain growers are encouraged to consider undertaking study and professional development that will enable their grain producing businesses to be productive, enduring and profitable.

Growers are encouraged to consider undertaking study and professional development that will enable their grain producing businesses to be productive, enduring and profitable.

Available through the GRDC Grower and Adviser Development Program (GAD), the funding support is available to growers (and accompanying advisers, or groups of advisers) for domestic and international travel.

Support will be provided on a competitive basis for arranging visits to GRDC-supported research and development projects, other relevant research projects, centres of excellence, farming systems groups and similar; or to support the travel of an expert in a specific scientific field to visit a community to share their knowledge and experience.

Preference will be given to applications from groups of growers (five or more growers), that demonstrate clearly identified area/s of study, a hypothesis linking the area of study to local grain production, learning goals and proposed outcomes.

Applications must be submitted via the GRDC Grains Investment Portal. To register go to https://access.grdc.com.au/, click on the register button on the top right-hand side and follow the prompts. Once registered, users can visit the portal anytime.

To apply for support for a proposed study tour, log in to the Portal, choose ‘Apply for Funding’ and select ‘Grower and Adviser Development – Study Tours’ from the selections available.

Complete the details for each available field and then click on “Submit Application” on the last page.

Applications are open until July 5, 2017.
